TRAX Restoration Protocol (TRP)

An open data protocol for evidence-based restoration and reconstruction decisions, from first notice of loss to closeout.
Draft v3 · Seeking technical review

Property claims generate decisions across estimates, contractors, recyclers, suppliers, engineers and insurers. The data is fragmented, often entered twice, and frequently reduced to a single number that says little about whether a better option is technically viable, affordable or available.

TRP gives claims stakeholders a shared, machine-readable language to record what happened, compare what could happen, and document why a restoration decision was made. It covers the full restoration lifecycle, not only carbon.

Mitigation and drying

Moisture readings, equipment placement, drying logs and the evidence that mitigation reached its goals.

Waste and debris

Material streams, weights, destinations, receipts, processing outcomes and verified diversion.

Materials and reconstruction

Estimate lines mapped to material requirements, products, environmental declarations and installed evidence.

Better alternatives

Like-kind-and-quality candidates compared on cost, carbon, technical fit, availability and approval status.

Resilience

Peril-specific performance evidence for more resilient rebuilds, without a single opaque score.

Contractor evidence

Field data captured through the tools contractors already use, returned as useful results.

  1. Connect existing claim, estimate, job and contractor systems.
  2. Normalize evidence into versioned TRP resources.
  3. Calculate and compare declared scenarios against technical constraints.
  4. Approve and execute decisions with human accountability.
  5. Verify and report what was actually done, installed and diverted.

TRP is a neutral exchange format. EcoClaim’s TRAX and ReBuild Better products are intended implementations, but any vendor can produce or consume TRP records without licensing an EcoClaim application. The open specification does not disclose proprietary algorithms or private customer data.
